  • Union Ministry of Health Affairs JP Nadda reaffirmed India’s commitment to eliminating TB by 2025 at 1st WHO Global Ministerial Conference at Moscow, Russia.
  • The Two-day “12th North-East Business Summit” was inaugurated in New Delhi. The summit aims to explore the scope for business opportunities in the North-Eastern region of India.
  • The Union Cabinet approved an agreement between India and Belarus on Scientific and Technological Cooperation for mutual benefit in the areas of science, technology, agriculture
  • Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated Aadi Mahotsav, a fortnight-long Tribal Festival in New Delhi. The theme of the festival is A Celebration of the Spirit of Tribal Culture, Cuisine and Commerce’.
  • The Union Cabinet approved signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Poland for Promotion of Civil Aviation Cooperation.
  • Madhya Pradesh partnered with Nagaland and Manipur under Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat Yojana to strengthen cultural relations between them.
  • President Ram Nath Kovind launched various schemes entailing total expenditure of Rs 3,455 crore in Jharkhand to coincide with the state’s 17th Foundation Day.
  • India, for the first time ever, is going to host the Global Conference on Cyber Space (GCCS), one of the world’s largest conferences in the field of Cyber Space and related issues, on 23 & 24 November 2017, at Aerocity, New Delhi.

International

  • The countries around the world have shared knowledge on policies and good practices, and have committed to eliminating child labour in a series of global conferences held in Oslo (1997), The Hague (2010) and Brasilia (2013).
  • France will host the 2023 Rugby World Cup to stage one of the world’s best attended and lucrative sporting events.

  • RBI Governor Urjit Patel was appointed to the Financial Stability Institute Advisory Board of the Bank of International Settlement (BIS).

  • Eminent Hindi poet and Jnanpith awardee Kunwar Narayan passed away in New Delhi. He was 90. He was Born on 9 September 1927 in Uttar Pradesh’s Faizabad, Kunwar Narayan was known for his poetry, stories, and critiques.
