  • Prime minister Narendra Modi has launched Umang mobile application, an integrated platform for government to citizen services.
  • Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) laid down provisions to help Pensioners in submitting Jeevan Pramaan with ease. Those pensioners who have already submitted Jeevan Pramaan digitally for the previous year need not essentially submit digital Pramaan for the current year
  • Bareilly’s Shubhangi Swaroop became the first-ever female pilot to be inducted into the Indian Navy. Swaroop who has been appointed in the Naval Armament Inspection (NAI) branch will now undergo pilot training at Dundigal Air Force Academy near Hyderabad.
  • The Union Cabinet approved the continuation of the scheme on Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) for another three financial years (FYs 2017-18 to 2019-20).
  • The Union Cabinet approved the setting up of the 15th Finance Commission which will assess the tax resources of the nation and suggest a formula for their devolution among states.
  • The Global Conference on Cyber Space will begin in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two-day mega event. For the first time, the event is being organized in India.
  • BrahMos has been successfully tested for the first time from a Sukhoi-30MKI fighter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) at the Bay of Bengal
  • Ira Joshi has been appointed as the director general (DG) of Doordarshan News by the information and broadcasting (I&B) ministry
  • India’s Justice Dalveer Bhandari has been re-elected to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

  • During the International Fraud Awareness week (12 – 18 November 2017), Axis Bank in association with Mumbai Police has launched its latest campaign #MuhPeTaala to promote safe banking.
  • New Development Bank (NDB) floated by BRICS nations approved two infrastructure and sustainable development projects in India and Russia with loans of $400 million.
  • Social networking giant Facebook stated that it expects to train about five lakh people in India on digital skills by 2020 and has unveiled two programmes designed for individuals and start-ups.
